Icethetics is partnering up with the Wenatchee Wild of the North American Hockey League for a logo design contest!
Wild's current logoThe Wild, based in Wenatchee, Wash., are looking for a new logo and are turning to the talented artists of the Icethetics community to take on the challenge. And to get your creative juices flowing, there are excellent prizes in store for the winner!
Guidelines
Here's some of what the Wild are looking for in their new identity:
- The wolf is the strong, powerful symbol of the Wild organization, but designers are encouraged to be creative with their identity.
- Create a simple, clean primary mark that works both with and without an identifying script.
- Watch your color count. Excess colors mean excess cost when manufacturing jerseys and merchandise. No specific color scheme is required (but black/red/gray is off limits as it represents another local sports organization).
- Do not copy the current Wild logo or any other trademarked symbol.
- And most of all, create a unique identity that stands out as being distinctively Wenatchee Wild.
Creativity is strongly encouraged! The Wild will choose one logo from this contest to be its new primary mark but runners-up will have the opportunity to be selected as a secondary or alternate mark.
The winning logo will be used starting in the 2010-11 NAHL season.
Submissions
The submission deadline has now passed. No more entries will be accepted.
Prizes
The designer of the winning primary logo will be compensated.
- $200 cash
- Jersey and T-shirt featuring winning logo
- Wild will feature the winning logo and artist on their website, in their game day insert/program, and would be willing to work with their local news outlets for additional coverage.
Additionally, runner-up prizes will be determined on an individual basis.
Background
The Wenatchee Wild were founded in 2008 as a member of the North American Hockey League, a Junior A Tier II league, sanctioned by USA Hockey. Further details available on the team's official website.
Icethetics previously held a contest to design a new logo for the University of South Florida's Ice Bulls hockey club team.
