Concepts In The Stars

Every so often, I get emailed a concept design that just looks simply amazing. Let me share the most recent piece I'd categorize that way.

Obviously, we're talking about the Dallas Stars today. And while I'm a fan of their new uniforms and the simplicity seen there, I would be among the last to object an overhaul. For instance, I feel a green jersey is exactly the way for this team to go. And while I don't think the logo seen here is perfect, it's a step in the right direction. I really like the secondary logo, though.

Anyway, this is what I like. Sharp graphics and folks getting creative. It almost makes me want to do a concept contest of some sort. The winner would get nothing but bragging rights, but I bet we'd see some amazing work along the way. Let me know in the comments if that sounds like something you guys would be interested in.

Continuing with today's theme now.

This is a nice set. I like the idea of using the bull/consellation logo on the shoulders of the black jersey. The red seems a bit out of place though.

And finally, here's a nice way to improve on the road sweater.

Just a little more color makes the jersey seem a lot less ... white. A bit more interesting to look at, to be sure.

Overall, I like what all of the artists have done here. Top notch work.

I like the bull constellation logo as a primary on a green jersey.

Those aren't too bad though.

If this season has taught me one thing about Dallas, it's: drop the green! Imagine their jerseys and logo without the green, just straight-up black with a touch of gold. Damn, now there's a good look.

Um, no, there's a generic look. The green gives them some character and they lost some of that character with the loss of the green jersey.

That first one screams "generic minor league team"

BTW, I sent a Stars concept logo and it wasn't included? Where is the love?

i like this concept nice bring back the green there is no other teams that have green since the wild and stars change that 'goofs'
i know this is off topic but i've notice in several occassions this season that the home team wears white and the road team wears dark but i've solved the problem the nhl is doing this in occassions where the teams are versing each other back to back in each others building

it looks awful quite here in nhl logo tournament everything is cooled down it looks like everybody is busy cheering on their teams and by the way chris your lightning team is not doing very well lol don't take offense just annoying you since i'm already expecting you to know

I like dressing up the white jersey. Please don't bring back the mooterus in any fashion. I like the old school look.

I don't know nhl jeff; the LA Kings black and white jerseys were some of the best of all-time in my opinion. The Sharks' alternate black jersey was one of the best third jerseys. Simplicity with a lot of black is powerful.

Those first ones are awesome. Way better than the stars current jerseys in my opinion. Well better than the black one at least.

That first set is pretty classy. A good design that builds on what's come before. And the stars on the pants are a nice touch.
