The Maple Leafs debut their new alternate sweater in their first game of the season, defeating the Detroit Red Wings 3-2.

Despite making no official statement about it on their web site, the Maple Leafs unveil their alternate sweater to fans attending the launch of the Leafs Nation Mobile Fan Zone to kick off Blue & White Week. The sweaters are the classic white third jersey the has used for several years.

With no official word from the team on the new third jersey, Icethetics learns from Reebok that the Maple Leafs will unveil their third jersey on Monday, October 6.

Howard Berger posts detailed descriptions of all 18 new third jerseys. He says the Maple Leafs will use the same third jersey they've used on-and-off since 1998. It's white with two thin blue stripes around the sleeves and base of the sweater and the vintage 35-point maple leaf on the front.
