The Re-Bourne concept series has been running here on Icethetics for more than three months now, ever since designer Andrew Bourne came to me with his idea of making over the NHL. I really think he's been hitting his stride lately and today he shares his take on the classic New York Rangers. I think he's done a great job of respecting the history as well as bringing a modern take. And heck, this alternate jersey is even one I would buy.

Anyone else been missing the Rangers' Lady Liberty logo? Justin Nahhas created this look, which I think is even better than the original uniform from the mid-90s.

Justin went back and made some updates to his Rangers concept, adding a white version. Maybe it's just me, but this needs to be New York's regular home and road jersey. There's nothing better.

On this Winter Classic Weekend, we look beyond 2013. If the pattern we've seen over the years persists, it won't be long before the New York Rangers are back in action on the outdoor ice — and with hosting duties, to boot. If the Broadway Blueshirts were to, say, host the Islanders at Yankee Stadium, perhaps their uniforms could pay tribute to the sport normally housed there — baseball. Basically, Colin May shows us what it might be like if the Rangers were to adopt Yankees pinstripes. It's a cool look, but definitely the wrong sport.
