0433: Fiery Freak Out

We'll end the week where it began: Calgary. I was thinking before that alternate logo featured Monday could be construed a bit to look like the Calgary Tower was on fire. This old concept by Lewis Dupuis leaves positively no doubt. I laugh every time I see it so I decided it was finally time to get it on the site. Yikes!

0426: A Very Canadian Mash-Up

I promised a Freak Out Friday two-parter and Brian Brideau has delivered. Last week you saw him mix up the Canadiens and Maple Leafs. This week, he tackles all the Canadian clubs — well, minus the Jets. What can you say about it?

0419: If the Habs Wore Leafs...

Sacrilege. Pure and simple. Brian Brideau has done the unthinkable, mixing two of hockey's most recognizable brands. He even snuck some Flames in there. (Did you catch it?) Wait until you see what he has in store for next Friday. That's right, a Freak Out Friday two-parter! To be continued...

0412: Another Brooklyn Freak Out

Ever since the announcement that the Isles will play in Brooklyn in a few years, the concepts haven't stopped. Black and white. Brooklyn. But almost every look — despite ending up in a Freak Out Friday post — has been very interesting, including this one by Dan Capostagno. I'm not a fan of the lack of color, but there's got to be something here. Maybe a new third jersey a few seasons from now?

0405: Pittsburgh Freak Out

Revival Week wraps up on this Freak Out Friday with the old Pittsburgh Hornets of the American Hockey League. They existed from 1961 until the Penguins franchise was awarded to the city in 1967. Derek Heilmann reimagines their jerseys today as an option for the Pens.

0398: The Coconut Whale

This week's Freak Out Friday is brought to us by Ryan Yuck, who takes us to the American Hockey League for a change. I'll let him explain why.

This is probably the weirdest jersey I have ever done. It's not pretty, however, I find it rather hilarious. Introducing... The Coconut Whale. My inspiration stems from the article you posted surrounding the Connecticut Whale franchise. Basically, at first glance I read, "Coconut" instead of "Connecticut". I thought to myself "what the f***?" until of course, I re-read the title of the article.

I thought it was a comical name for a team so I went along with it and made a concept. Call it a freak out, heck, call it a funny Beer League team. Whatever it is, this jersey will never see the light of day. Haha.

0391: Freaky Florida Cats

This Freak Out Friday is brought to you by Antonio Calisto. I don't really have the words for it.
