0293: Race Car Freak Out

It's another Freak Out Friday, but this may just be stretching the limit of what's considered a hockey concept. Still, when Bryan Dyck sent me these race car designs, they were hard to ignore. Not to worry though, we'll be back to jersey concepts in short order.

0227: Putting the Black in Blackhawks

In honor of their recent NHL Tournament of Logos victory here at Icethetics, today we feature the Chicago Blackhawks. Ryan Haslett offers a revamped black jersey with some modified logos. Only thing I'm not crazy about are the numbers. What about you?

0203: Winter in the Midwest

Got a couple of items to share on this Winter Classic Weekend, but we're looking beyond 2013 for this one. If recent history is any indication, the Blackhawks will soon find themselves back in the outdoor spotlight, and when they do, Wade Hermann suggests they sport something like what we see above.

As a bonus, we have this update to a Blues concept posted last month. Chance Waddell originally designed a blue one but has since added a vintage white version to match.

0191: Blackhawks Re-Bourne

It's been a while since we last saw an entry into the Re-Bourne series by Andrew Bourne. We pick it up with a very stripped-down set of jerseys for the Chicago Blackhawks. Thoughts?

Ask any hockey fan to name the top five best jerseys in the league. I bet Chicago will be on every list. Chicago has a classic style and is the class of the league. It is very hard to even try to improve their style, but I took a whack at it with a giant stick called, 'history'.

0099: Two Ways to Use the Tomahawks

Today we're looking at some alternate jersey alternatives for the Chicago Blackhawks — both centered around the club's tomahawk-laden secondary logo. Brian Brideau's design actually doesn't use that logo directly, but rather a modified version that features the year of the team's founding. It could work great for a future Winter Classic what with the abundance of old-timey stripes and all.

Justin Wiltron's attempt is much simpler and to the point. Make it black and put the actual tomahawk logo on the front. Why hasn't this been done yet? It doesn't look bad at all. In fact, as Blackhawks jerseys go, I kind of like this one.

0089: Vintage Blackhawks

Recently, Micah Loyed's work was the subject of a concepts series called Vintage Week. Afterward, he wanted to throw in one more idea. This is what he put together for the Blackhawks. I really do like the simplified crest design.

0049: A Classic Midwest Match-up

It's Saturday and that means the start of another Winter Classic Weekend, doesn't it? For the moment we'll all pretty Toronto-ed and Detroit-ed out. So let's look beyond 2013? I bet the Chicago Blackhawks and St. Louis Blues would make good partners for an outdoor extravaganza — especially, now that the Blues are playing like a good hockey team again. And these two jerseys by frequent IceHL contributor Chance Waddell look fantastic to me. In fact, why do we even need to wait for a Winter Classic to see them? Let's get them on the ice as alternates now!
