Entries in beer league (7)
Matt McElroy helps us celebrate a milestone today — 400 consecutive days with new concept art right here on Icethetics. His entry today into the Beer League Sunday series is the Buffalo Buffalo. You're welcome, western New York.
Our Beer League Sundays series picks up today in Brampton, Ontario with the Angry Dragons! Jeremy Motley writes in with a look at how his team came to life.
Just was catching up with the blog today. I saw the Eskimo Brothers post on the concept page and thought I'd throw another beer league concept that turned real your way. My team is called the Angry Dragons. It started with a logo done for fun and turned into a reality thanks to a sponsorship from one of the guy's employers. Hope you like it!
Jeremy also passed along this photo of the uniform.
John Quincy King adds another custom team to our Beer League Series today. He's come up with the Palmettos of Myrtle Beach, S.C. Want to see your beer league team featured here? Send along your jersey design and even a few photos if you've got them.
The Beer League Series hasn't been as big of a hit as I was hoping in its first two weeks. I'll try a couple more but if you guys aren't feeling it we'll move on to something else. Today's concept isn't so much a beer league team (though it could be!) as a custom team created by John Lovato. He writes:
The CHL team here in Denver named themselves the Cutthroats after the Eagles left, and everyone I talked to wasn't too fond of the logo. I eventually made this, and after a bit made it from a cut throat into a simple carp, and placed them in Cleveland. I included a primary, a shoulder, and two jerseys, in the hopes it might be showcased on your awesome site.
First, Happy 1st Birthday to the new Icethetics concepts page! Today marks a full year since the re-launch of the page and the addition of daily concept posts.
Last weekend, we started a new concept series called Beer League Sundays. After that post, Max Young wrote in and asked to have his beer league team featured on the page. And it was too good to pass up.
I'm just emailing in response to your call for submissions for beer league concepts. I've attached the home and away jerseys I designed for my beer league roller hockey team 'Shane O'Beautys Hockey Club' (named after all around beaut Shane O'Brien). The dark jerseys are our home jerseys from last season (I've also attached a team photo to show the jerseys in action) while the light jerseys are our new away kits for our second season.
I'm a big fan of the site and it would be awesome if these could get on there.
What do you guys think? Let the O'Beautys know by rating their jersey designs. And if you've designed one for your team that you'd like to see featured, send it along.
As promised, I'm launching a new concept series today. Beer League Sundays! So if you like to design logos and jerseys for amateur teams — real or fake — send them along! We kick things off with Dylan Alexander who proposed this series. His first team is called the Eskimo Brothers. If you have a great beer league concept, send it along and look for it right here on Sunday.
