0273: Waddell's Winter Classic, Part 2

I debuted a new Winter Classic series by the Brothers Waddell last week. Chance and Jake have designed retro-style sweaters for all 30 NHL teams. We started with the Kings and Penguins. Then the first to comment on that post got to pick the next two teams; Brian chose the Rangers and Islanders. (Unfortunately, that meant posting three different Islanders concepts this week. But I'm keeping my word.)

Same deal this week. Which teams should we look at next Saturday? Be the first to comment.

0272: Long Island Freak Out

Ross Taylor is back on Freak Out Friday. Today he's looking at the Islanders and what might happen if they followed their new fellow tenants at the Barclays Center and changed up their color scheme. You'll notice a bit of a callback to this design from back in March.

0271: Sharp Sénateurs

We've seen a lot of incredible Ottawa Senators concepts grace this pages and this one definitely joins that company. Scott Markiewicz has assembled a fantastic design that captures the history of this team and the history of its predecessor while not looking old and stale. Bravo!

0270: Coyotes Re-Bourne

We haven't seen much from Andrew Bourne these days, but not to worry, there's still plenty more to come. Today, his NHL makeover series looks at the Phoenix Coyotes. It's a unique set that very clearly combines the team's current look with it's old one from the late '90s. What do you think?

0269: Coming Soon to Brooklyn

If the Stars are the most popular team to design concepts for these days, the Islanders have to be second on the list. There are a lot coming in lately. (In fact, you'll see another one on Friday. A fun one from our buddy Ross Taylor.) But this one by Brendan Klein is asking for a little recognition of Brooklyn — where the Isles will start playing home games in a few years. He's also got a neat set of jerseys which I'm really enjoying, by the way. This is a great kit, even if I don't quite get the secondary logo.

0268: Retro/Modern Stars

Last week, we heard from Stars owner Tom Gagliardi who is definitely ready for a new look in Dallas. Thank goodness! We're all right there with him. So count on seeing a lot more Stars concepts in the near future, such as this great one from Joseph Loretz. It's a unique mix of retro and modern elements. The logo could use a little bit of polish but I think the jersey itself is there!

0267: Canisius Golden Griffins

Alex Valvo treats us to a new look for Canisius College on this University Sunday. By the way, if you have a college concept to submit, don't delay! I'm starting to run low and just when this feature is getting popular.
