0388: A Gold Star

I've received a lot of Dallas Stars concepts since the team announced their intentions to launch a rebrand next season, but I'm trying to spread them out a bit here. Today, we get a look at another one from Bryan Dyck. Unfortunately, it's a little too dull for my tastes. But I do like the slanted collegiate-style numbers. I don't think anyone has done that since the Tampa Bay Lightning during their second season in 1993-94 — coincidentally the Stars' first in Dallas.

Calgary, Carolina, and Nashville (98-11) have slanted numbers.

would make for a pretty sharp looking beer league team

Brian: That is correct, which is why I made a point to say collegiate-style numbers — the standard block font you see on most sports uniforms. Calgary, Carolina and Nashville all use(d) special custom fonts.

I think the only adjustment needed to give the sweater some pop, is to make the background behind the star white. The logo will stand out much better

This is great, I love the numbers, and I also love the logo.

Can anyone direct an aspiring jersey tweaker to where I can find the numbers to add?

It's not bad, and it's certainly an improvement on what Dallas is currently wearing, but it still looks a bit minor league for my liking. It looks like it might be a better fit on the Gloucester Rangers than it would be on an NHL team.
