0160: Rockalanche Redux
The highest-rated concept ever posted on Icethetics came on a Freak Out Friday just over four months ago. It was Ross Taylor's Colorado Rockalanche — a fusion of the Avalanche and the Rockies, which came decades before them. It keeps coming up again and again so Ross keeps working on it. Today, he brings us a revised uniform set complete with a brand new wordmark.

this is up there with the blue jackets concept with more cannon. this could very well be the Colorado Avalanche, such a great combo of old and new but the avs colors now could use some revamped concepts. Very well done.. the number style is exceptional

I love it times a thousand, but I still can't help feeling like the puck needs to breach the right side of the "A" in a similar way the current Avalanche logo has it. It feels a little unbalanced to me right now.
Love the concept, I was Around when Rocky Hockey was a big thing in Colorado and was elated when we acquired the Avs. This jersey in sharp, well thought out and I would by both right now. Excellent work and use of both logos!

This is above and beyond the best jersey concept i've ever seen for any team. Such a unique combination of the team's history done in such an appealing way, looks amazing and just continually gets improved when I think it can't get any better. I want to start a youth organization and use these sweaters!
Im gonna go ahead and say that Ross Taylor is a fucking champion!
This, of all three Rockalanche concepts is probably the worst. But, it is still far and away better, more interesting and, more likely to be used as a real NHL jersey than a lot of other respectable concepts.
Personally I think the first inception of the Rockalanche jerseys is the best of the three. The bold sleeve and waist striping hit the spot. In the second version I like that the yellow highlights were added to match the logo work. And even though I said that this was the worst of the three, its still great. I respect the ideas and work that Ross has put into this one single semi fictional team.

I love this concept. The only things that could be done to improve it are very, very nitpicky (outdated NHL and Reebok logos), but certainly don't detract from a great concept. I'm liking the numbers too, it's got a Colorado feel to it (whatever that means, but it just seems to fit).
Oh my god this is awesome. I think I agree with what Mike said about the puck breaching - but regardless, this is SO SO good. I'd love to see them in this. I never liked their uniforms from the start, way back in 95. The only one I ever liked was their current third. This kills all of them. SO excellent.
