0149: Ready for Take Off

The Winnipeg Jets have always been a popular subject on this page. But today we get something a little different. Chris Joannou put a lot of time into this one and I think it really shows.

Very impressed with the logo! It definitely has a lot of symbolism going on, but I think he weaved them together quite nicely. Unlike the current logo for Jets 2.0, this has a sense of motion to it, which is an important element for any team named the Jets. On top of that, he managed to incorporate nods to Jets 1.0, and I could be mistaken, but is there a a reference to the Esplanade Riel as well? Very nice wordmark to boot. I can't wait to see a more fleshed out jersey design.

The logo is nice, even if it's a tad too sharp-edged for my tastes and the motion lines add a bit more complexity and detail than I think are necessary for a clean logo. The little loop right above the motion lines (or contrail) is a little too much also. I'm not sure if it's meant to look like another "J", but even if so, it's too many J's. The white side of the jet is already enough J for one logo.

The red homes are an interesting choice. I think they work well. You don't see many home/away combos where nothing, but the base color of the sweater changes.

The treatment of the mock-ups is very strange, though. It's hard to get a good idea of the design with the very unorthodox presentation, warped shape/proportions, and the gradients.

really great concept, I would rather see the jets with their blue at home, but a great logo design as well.

The striping's beautiful, the secondary logo is spot on, and the primary is pretty good too.

But what, what is up with those collars?

nice logos, but i feel like the Jets should wear stick to regular jerseys instead of ponchos.

Great logo and jersey design the only thing I would change is the home colours. I would swap the red and blue. Other than that great job!!!!!!!!

I really like the logo and the wordmark, but the "half-shirt" presentation looks like something for the Lingerie Hockey League...

I'm with the others who've said this - nice logo, but what is up with the mock-ups? They just look like big lumps with some designs on them.
