0076: Calgary Cowboyes
Another Freak Out Friday is upon us, and as usual Ross Taylor has some brand-blending artwork to share. This time he's mixed the NHL's Calgary Flames with the WHA's Calgary Cowboys, a team that existed from 1975 to 1977. Funny enough, it kind of works.
By the way, after seeing Ross's brand-blended logos last week a few readers asked to see uniform designs. He listened. Go check them out.

The hat logo should be turned around to match the one on the citys flag. And the Flaming horse logo should be removed.
First off I'm an Oiler fan, so anything Calgary often requires careful consideration as to what I say. This though... I nearly splurted out my pepper soup, all over the PC. Whilst it does kind of work and Freak Out Friday uni's can be funny as well as a bit freakish, I was buying into the shirt.
However it's the shorts that caused the problems.. What does that logo on the shorts look like??? Soup nearly went everywhere. I'd so love to see Calgary take this logo on!!! Just for the sheer laughs. Thank you for this one, it's one of the best yet...
That logo is so over the top, I love it! I dig how it works in that funky horse head logo.

I'm still trying to figure it out - what does the "E" in "COWBOYES" represent?
Johnny: I think it's an attempt at incorporating Flames into the name. Better than Flameboys anyway. Maybe Cowflames could've worked but that would make me think of steak.
Is that the old Arbys logo?
