0235: The Purple King

The last time this logo graced a hockey jersey was 1996. But 16 years on, concept artists keep trying out because there's just something about it. Today, Justin Cox has a purple and black Kings sweater that's never been tried before and it's a beauty. Of course that's just one opinion of it. What's yours?

I'm actually quite impressed with this jersey. At first glance, I didn't really love it. The longer I looked at it, the more I like it. I think this would be a welcome change from their current, extremely boring, terrible logo (I could go on and on) jerseys that they are donning.

Love the purple colour, but I'm not a fan of the playing card logo. (Of course I'm still biased to the old crown). I really think the purple is perfect for this.

i like the idea of it, but the purple beard on the purple jersey bothers me. perhaps change the color of the beard to white or silver, or maybe a shape around the logo to break up the purple on purple a bit more. something.

This would make an awesome jersey. I love this and would love to see it on the ice. I always preferred having purple in the Kingf uni's vs. the black and silver. Although I'm on an island, I think the Kings current jerseys are horrible. I loved the crown and shield, and the purple was original.

This is really growing on me. I would put the original crown logo on one of the shoulders and the Chevy logo on the other. I agree with Wigglesworth about the colour of the beard needing to be changes though. It would be too hard to see on t.v. and probably even live in the arenas. Other than that I love this jersey. I keep saying the NHL needs more colour.

Purple on purple with the logo doesn't work. But if the two logos were switched this would be perfect.

LOVE IT! I liked the 96 jersey too, it was ugly but unique. This is beautiful and unique. A++++

would it look weird or good with a gold/yellow crown?

Don't know if anyone watches college football, reminds me of northwestern's 2012 new uniforms. I think if they took that exact concept and applied to this it would look great on a hockey uniform

Love the color scheme and stripping. It'd be a great 3rd for the Kings (go Kings!) ... except for the Burger King logo, that guys needs to cast down into sports logo purgatory, ne'er to be seen again!

updated version looks great. i like the darker (earlier) purple better but it's always hard to judge colors too closely. everyone's monitor is different and the color never ends up looking like the actually material in hand. the silver beard looks super!
